King Katsu Land
Introduction
King Katsu Land serves Korean-style pork cutlet in Daly City and Newark, California. Three coded design directions, a live restaurant website and a dated search baseline for its Daly City and Newark locations.
The vision
Three directions. Two locations.
All three follow the same six sections: hero, story, menu, the challenge that is unique to this shop, the two locations, and a call to order.
Three directions, built in code
For King Katsu Land, we designed three directions and built each as a working page.
The owner could review the layouts, menu and location information on a phone as well as a desktop.
Research before design
The directions came after the research: a sales brief of 21 slides and a research board on who searches nearby, what they ask and who ranks today.
Facts first, then the site.
Two locations
Each location has its own Order links, to DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.
Outcomes
Google shows the new site near the top when people look for food in Daly City, and each location now has its own order link.
