Who we are
MIK design company (“MIK”, “we”, “us”) designs and builds websites for cafes, restaurants and local businesses, and provides search, analytics and Google Business Profile services for them. This policy covers www.mikcompany.com, the inquiry form on it, email and phone contact with us, and the Google account data our clients authorize us to access.

Information you give us
When you send a project inquiry through the form on this website, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your shop or business name and its address (before opening, a city and neighborhood are enough)
- What you would like to improve
- Optional: your website, Instagram account and preferred start time
The form saves this information in our private customer records system, hosted on Cloudflare, which requires a login. A copy is emailed to our team's inboxes so that we can reply. Email you send to hello@mikcompany.com is forwarded to the same team inboxes, which are hosted by Google (Gmail).
To prevent abuse, the form uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions. The IP address is not stored with your inquiry.
If you call us or message us on KakaoTalk, we receive what you share in that conversation. KakaoTalk conversations are also subject to Kakao's privacy policy.
We use this information only to reply to you, prepare a quote or proposal, and provide the services you ask for. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use this website. It is loaded by our own script, which is set up to collect less than Google Analytics does by default:
- Pages are recorded by their address without the query string or fragment, and email addresses, phone numbers and long identifiers in an address are removed before anything is sent.
- We record interactions such as link and button clicks, scroll depth, sections viewed, the page language, and campaign labels such as utm_source when they are simple public labels.
- For the inquiry form, we record only that it was started and submitted, never what you typed.
- Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off, and the data is not used for advertising.
- Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID> to tell visits apart. By default they expire after 2 years. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Our script does not run at all when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or when the browser is automated.
Our host, Cloudflare, also measures page views and loading performance with Cloudflare Web Analytics. According to Cloudflare, it does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and they are set only when our analytics script runs. We do not use advertising cookies.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
California law asks us to explain how we respond to Do Not Track signals. When your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, our Google Analytics script does not run, so no Google Analytics cookies are set and no analytics events are sent. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, may still count the visit.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use these service providers to run the website and our business. They process information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and security, the inquiry form's database and notification emails, and forwarding of email sent to hello@mikcompany.com
- Google: Google Analytics, and Gmail for our team's inboxes
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Google user data from connected accounts
Some services, such as reports and Google Business Profile management, need data from a client's Google accounts. We access this data only after the Google account holder authorizes our application on Google's consent screen, and only for the Google Analytics properties, Search Console properties and Business Profiles that account can access.
- What we access: Google Analytics reports (read-only) and Search Console search performance data (read-only).
- Google Business Profile access is planned: we have applied to Google for access to the Business Profile APIs, and it has not been approved yet. Once it is, we will use it for Business Profile information and performance, and we will change a Business Profile only when its owner asks us to, for example to update hours, a menu link or a post.
- How we use it: only to provide the reporting, analysis and Business Profile management services the client asked for.
- We do not sell this data or use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide those services, for security, or to comply with the law.
- We do not use this data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
- Our team views the data only to provide the services the client asked for, or when needed for security or to comply with the law.
MIK design company's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can remove our access at any time on your Google Account permissions page. If you ask us at hello@mikcompany.com, we will delete the Google data and reports we hold for your business within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep them.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries and client records: as long as needed to reply to you, provide our services and keep records of them. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Google Analytics data for this website: 14 months.
- Google user data from connected accounts: while the client uses our services, and deleted within 30 days after access is removed or the client asks us to delete it.
Your choices and rights
To see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, email hello@mikcompany.com. We reply to privacy requests within 45 days.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and our analytics honors Global Privacy Control. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Send requests to hello@mikcompany.com with the subject “Privacy request”.
To stop Google Analytics on this and other websites, you can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Children
This website and our services are meant for businesses. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
The website is served only over HTTPS. Inquiry records are kept in a system that requires a login, and access is limited to our team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
